NEW YORK, June 22 – The Major League Baseball Players Association today released the following statement:
The MLBPA Executive Board met multiple times in recent days to assess the status of our efforts to resume the 2020 season.
Earlier this evening, the full Board reaffirmed the players’ eagerness to return to work as soon and as safely as possible. To that end we anticipate finalizing a comprehensive set of health and safety protocols with Major League Baseball in the coming days, and we await word from the league on the resumption of spring training camps and a proposed 2020 schedule.
While we had hoped to reach a revised back to work agreement with the league, the Players remain fully committed to proceeding under our current agreement and getting back on the field for the fans, for the game, and for each other.

NUEVA YORK, 22 de junio - La Asociación de Peloteros de Grandes Ligas emitió hoy la siguiente declaración:
La Junta Ejecutiva de la MLBPA se reunió varias veces en los últimos días para evaluar el estado de nuestros esfuerzos para reanudar la temporada 2020.
A principios de esta tarde, la Junta completa reafirmó el deseo de los Peloteros de volver al trabajo lo antes y con la mayor seguridad posible. Con ese fin, anticipamos finalizar un conjunto integral de protocolos de salud y seguridad con Major League Baseball en los próximos días, y esperamos noticias de la liga sobre la reanudación de los campamentos de Spring Training y un calendario propuesto para 2020.
Si bien esperábamos llegar a un acuerdo revisado de regreso al trabajo con la liga, los Peloteros siguen totalmente comprometidos a proceder según nuestro acuerdo actual y regresar al campo para los fanáticos, para el juego y para los demás.
