Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, the Major League Baseball Players Association will be honoring baseball’s Hispanic Heritage. Throughout Major League Baseball history, close to 2,000 players of Hispanic descent have been featured on a big league roster. Today, they make up more than 30% of the league's talent; a number that continues to soar on season-to-season basis. The impact each Hispanic major league player has had on their team, is one that cannot be measured.
With Latino talent at an all-time high, fans have been lucky to witness future Hall of Famers, All-Stars, rookie phenoms and overall premiere talent that have taken the field. In order to recognize the growing presence of Hispanic Heritage in the baseball community, the MLBPA has designed 30 graphics that depict iconic images of the baseball cities, crafted with the last names of the each Hispanic Player on the team.
Players with Latin American roots have and continue to play a vital role in shaping the way baseball is enjoyed around the world.
