Tom Garrity, who will soon enter his third year at the University of Michigan Law School, is committed to fighting for workers’ rights. As a life-long sports fan and an aspiring advocate for athletes, the Buffalo native was honored to be among the recipients of this year’s Michael Weiner Scholarship for Labor Studies. After spending the summer after his first year in law school as a Peggy Browning Fellow with the New York State United Teachers in Albany, NY, planned to spend this summer at Levy Ratner. P.C. in New York City. At Michigan Law, Tom is a Comment Editor for the Journal of Law Reform, an Office Manager for the Unemployment Insurance Clinic, and captain of the Law School Hockey Team. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in History from SUNY Geneseo.
