Major League Baseball Players Association Executive Director Tony Clark today issued the following statement regarding the passing of David Montgomery:

"Phillies chairman David Montgomery was a caring, dignified and thoughtful man whose love for the game and the Philadelphia community helped define the organization at every level. The Players Association expresses its sympathies to David's family, the city of Philadelphia and the Phillies' organization on his passing."
